WhatsApp’s new feature may let you track friend’s real-time location
Some of the leaked images showing the new ‘tracking feature’ in WhatsApp groups have been posted on Twitter by @WABetaInfo, a Twitter account that tracks new features and changes in WhatsApp’s beta builds.
As per the information shared in the tweets claim, that the feature is already available for Apple iOS users as a part of WhatsApp beta v18.104.22.168 and on Android as part of WhatsApp beta v2.16.399. It’s also claims that the feature is disabled by default and needs to be activated manually.
It is worth noting that activating the feature will show the user’s live location to other group members as well. It is visible under the ‘Show my Friends’ option and can be seen in the group settings. The ‘Show my Friends’ option can be turned on for every group member for different time durations — 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes or indefinitely.
Recently, WhatsApp for iOS received the ability to let users ‘send’ WhatsApp messages in areas of poor or no internet connectivity. The feature, which has already been there in Android smartphones for sometime now, recently made its way to Apple’s iOS operating system.

The update brings WhatsApp for iOS to version 4.2017.0200 and weighs around 107MB in size. It offers users the ‘queue messages’ feature, which means that they can send messages to individuals or groups even in areas where there is no network or poor connectivity. The messages are automatically delivered once connectivity resumes on the device.
As part of the update, iOS users can also use the redesigned storage usage screen to manage the device’s storage space. The feature can be accessed by navigating through Settings >> Data and Storage Usage >> Storage Usage .
