Step 1

You need to create an account with Tumblr for you to start posting your blog post on it
Create a new account and finish the necessary changes and save.
If you already have an account with them you are a few steps ahead.

Step 2

Login to… create an account if you don’t have one.

Step 3 
After signing in to Your IFTTT account
Click on your profile. It will display a drop-down menu Click on “New Applet”

Input RSS in the search box provided.

Select RSS feed on the menu

 Choose Trigger by selecting “new feed item”

Enter Your Feed complete the trigger.

Enter your blog RSS then click on create trigger

Then click on the +button
From the service listed select “Tumblr
Step 9 
Make you activate/authorize your Tumblr blog a connect it to IFTTT
Step 10
Select the “create a link post”

Step 11

Do not touch anything on the page just leave them in default and click on 
“Create action”

Step 12
On the next page just click on “finish”

Now your Tumblr blog is connected to your blog post feed and you now have backlink from Tumblr.
